KENNESAW, Ga. - Even after an appearance at the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history, many of Kennesaw State's men's golfers are staying busy on the course during the early summer months.

Rising senior Matt Nagy competed in the prestigious Dogwood Invitational last week at the Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta.  Nagy fired rounds of 74-70-72 to finish in a tie for 45th place.

Four KSU golfers qualified for the Georgia State Golf Association's State Amateur Championship Ben Greene (78 - +6), Jonathan Klotz (78 - +6), and Greg O'Connor (79 - +7) all qualified through Pinetree Country Club.  Incoming freshman Austin Vick will also be competing, after shooting a 71 (-1) at Jones Creek Golf Club, finishing in a tie for second in the qualifier.

The GSGA State Amateur Championship tees off Thursday, July 7 at Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta.

Greene and incoming freshman Jimmy Beck also competed at the Southeastern Amateur Championship June 15-18.  Green finished in a tie for 44th by carding an aggregate score fo 295.  Beck finished in a tie for 54th, three strokes behind his future teammate with a 298.

Beck also competed in the American Junior Golf Association's Rolex Tournament of Champions June 27-July 1 in Sunriver, Ore.  Beck carded four rounds in the 70's for a total of 299 and a tie for 26th.

O'Connor joined Beck in Oregon, playing at the United States Amateur Public Links Championship in Bandon, Ore., at the Bandon Springs Golf Resort.  After two rounds of stroke play, O'Connor found himself in a tie for the final spot in the 64-man match play tournament.  O'Connor would win the playoff and move into the draw as the No. 64 seed.  Paired against the top seed in the tournament, O'Connor would hold an early lead before falling to eventual champion Corbin Mills, 4 & 2.
