OCALA, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf team punched their ticket to the NCAA Championship in Stillwater, Okla., May 31-June 6 after placing third at the Southeastern NCAA Regional at the Golden Ocala Golf Club. “Both days I got off to a dream start and that was key to putting up two good rounds,” Karlsson said. “It is a big relief to be invited to Stillwater because we were all very anxious to make it, so this has been one of the best days of my golf career.”

Junior Matt Nagy was the second lowest Owl for the tournament after shooting 77-70-67=214,  -2 to finish tied for 17th.

“I birdied the first hole and then birdied five and six to propel my round,” Nagy said. “I was pleased with my front nine score since it was the tougher nine of the course. Seeing the leader board after hole-15 I knew it was going to be a good day.”

After finishing rounds one and two in the top-five, sophomore Ben Greene finished tied for 26th shooting 67-71-79=217, +1. Freshman Jonathan Klotz posted a 73-73-74=220, +4 to finish tied for 37th, while senior Chad Wilson finished tied for 58th carding a 81-71-74=226, +10.

“We are really looking forward to going to Nationals,” Moseley said. “It will be fun to go out and compete in the best tournament in college golf. It’s a great thing to be a part of, but we are going for more than just to compete. We are looking to win a National Championship.”

The Black and Gold will head to Oklahoma next Sunday to play in a practice round before the Championship starts. The top-five teams from each of the six regionals will combine to make a 30-team field.
