KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Austin Peay on Monday night, 6-1, at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.
The loss drops the Owls to 6-6 for the season, while the win improves the Governors to 7-2 on the year.
“We came out without much energy in the doubles and dug ourselves an early hole tonight,” head coach #T.J. Greggs#. “I don't think I did enough to get the players motivated to play today, and I take the blame for not getting everyone pumped up to play. We'll come back on Friday with a different energy than we had today, and will be ready to pick up another conference victory when we take on Florida Gulf Coast.”
The Black and Gold did get a supreme individual effort from junior
Ryan Bouttell at the No. 6 singles spot. Bouttell saved three match points and came back from a 9-6 deficit in the super tiebreak to win his match over John Storie 7-6, 1-6, 11-9.
Kennesaw State jumps back into conference play as it will host Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Mar. 11. The match will be played at BridgeMill Tennis Club at 11 a.m.
