MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Kennesaw State men's golf team are in first place with 18-holes remaining at the Barefoot at the Beach Intercollegiate. Junior
Matt Nagy is the individual standings leader after carding a 67-68/135, -9 after two rounds of play.
"Overall I am pleased with our performance today," head coach Jay Moseley said. "We did leave a lot of shots on the course and missed some good opportunities but fortunately we finished our round off very well to give us the lead going into tomorrow."
The Owls maintain a two-stroke lead over Gardner-Webb (567, -9) and a four-stroke lead over conference contender Stetson (569, -7).
Nagy holds a three stroke lead over second place Steve Jones (138, -6) of Gardner Webb and a five-stroke lead over Stetson's Sam Ryder (140, -4) and Gabe Costa (140, -4) who are tied for third.
Tied for seventh place is junior
Jeff Karlsson (73-70/143, -1) and sophomore
Ben Greene (73-70/143. -1). Freshman
Jonathan Klotz is T-12th after posting a (72-72/144, E), while senior
Chad Wilson is T-54th shooting an (81-74/155, +11). In individual play,
Peder Lunde Hermansson is T-21st after the sophomore carded a (74-73/147, +3).
