KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Owls will wrap up the Georgia Tech Buzz Classic on their home field on Sunday, hosting Austin Peay at 2 p.m. at Bailey Park. The game will be the first of three games played at Bailey Park on Sunday, due to weather-related changes to the tournament schedule.
The Owls (12-5) were originally scheduled to play two games at Twin Creeks Softball Complex in Woodstock on Sunday against Winthrop and Alabama State, but Saturday’s cancelation of play caused an initial change to Sunday’s schedule, pitting them against Miami (OH) at 3:30 p.m. today. Further inclement has caused another shift in the schedule, and they will now play at their home field against the Lady Governors of Austin Peay (3-12).
The two teams are tied, 1-1, in their all-time series, having split a pair of games in 2007.
Kennesaw State kicked off the Buzz Classic on Friday with a pair of wins over Boston University and Niagara, 5-4 and 12-1, respectively.
Miami will play in the last two games of the afternoon at Bailey Park, taking on Georgia State at 4 p.m. and UConn at 6 p.m.
