GREENSBORO, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's golf team wrapped up the Linger Longer Invitational Tuesday finishing tied for sixth. The Owls failed to meet their expectations as the Great Waters Golf Course of Reynolds Plantation produced tough conditions.

"We had an overall decent tournament, but it could of been better," head coach Jay Moseley said. "It was not our best week on the greens as we couldn't find our best stuff and that was the difference in a good week. We will regroup and be ready for our next tournament."

Alabama garnered the honor of team champion as the Crimson Tide (846, -18) finished 18-strokes ahead of second place Chattanooga (864, E).

For the second year in a row, the individual medalist award will go back to Tuscaloosa as Alabama's Cory Whitsett (203, -13) ousted team mate Bud Cauley (204, -12) on the final hole with a birdie to clench the title.

Junior Matt Nagy was the low scorer for the Owls in the final round, posting a (69, -3) finishing T-18th for the tournament. Junior Jeff Karlsson finished just behind his team mate on Tuesday carding a (71, -1) to place T-9th.

Freshman Jonathan Klotz finished T-32nd shooting a (75, +3), while senior Chad Wilson finished T-36th posting a (75, +3). Sophomore Ben Greene rounded out the scoring for the Owls after scoring (79, +7) on the final day of play.

The Black and Gold will be back in competition Apr. 9-10 at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate in Charlotte, N.C. The tournament is hosted by Charlotte and will be held at the Club at Irish Creek.
