GREENSBORO, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished round two of the Linger Longer Invitational shooting a (297, +9) for a (588, +12) total at the Great Waters Golf Course.  The Owls dropped from fourth place after round one to eighth place with their performance on Monday.

"The team didn't perform to our capabilities and we left a lot of shots out on the course," head coach Jay Moseley said. "We know what we can do and tomorrow we have to go out and do it to give ourselves and opportunity to finish strong."

The Black and Gold are sandwiched in between seventh place Charlotte (586, +3) and ninth place Coastal Carolina (598, +22) with 18-holes remaining. Alabama holds the team lead after shooting a ( 562, -10) after 36-holes. The Crimson Tide hold an 11-stroke lead over second place Chattanooga (573, -3) and a 13-stroke lead over Stanford (575, -1).

Junior Jeff Karlsson led the charge for the Black and Gold, carding a (71, -1). Freshman Jonathan Klotz stepped up for the Owls shooting a (74, +2) while senior Chad Wilson posted a (75, +3) to keep the squad in contention. Junior Matt Nagy turned in a (77, +5), while sophomore Ben Greene rounded out the afternoon for the Owls finishing with a (82, +10).

Cory Whitsett (132, -12) still holds the top spot in the individual medalist race with a five-stroke lead over team mate and 2010 Linger Longer Champion Bud Cauley (137, -7). The pair of Crimson Tide players are just in front of the Chattanooga tandem of Stehphan Jaeger (138, -6) and Benjamin Weilguni (139, -5).

The Owls will tee off again on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and will be paired with Charlotte and Coastal Carolina. Live stats of the final round can be viewed at Golfstat.com. For complete coverage of the Linger Longer Invitational and all KSU men's golf news, visit www.ksuowls.com.
