KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State will take its four-game winning streak on the road when they visit Georgia Southern on Tuesday evening.

The Owls (14-8) enter the game after defeating Georgia on Wednesday evening and sweeping a three-game series from Lipscomb this past weekend. Georgia Southern (12-9) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 9-2 win at Samford on Sunday afternoon.

Kennesaw State and Georgia Southern will be meeting for the ninth time on Tuesday with the series tied at four games each. The Owls won the first three games of the series, which dates back to 2007, but the Eagles have won four of the last five meetings. The teams have split four games at J.I. Clements Stadium where the Eagles have a 10-4 record this season.

Freshman Travis Dean (1-2, 8.53) will make his fourth start for the Owls and his second road start of his young career. Dean is coming off a four-inning stint against Western Carolina, which matched the longest outing of his collegiate career. The Boston, Mass. native won his first collegiate start, defeating Alabama-Birmingham in late February when he threw four innings of two-hit ball.

Georgia Southern will throw junior Josh Adams (4-2, 4.40), as the right-hander will make his sixth start of the young season. Adams started against Samford on Saturday and lasted one inning as he allowed four runs on three hits with two walks in a, 9-2, loss to the Bulldogs.

Adams did earn the win in relief when Georgia Southern defeated No. 1-ranked Florida. The Bath, S.C. native tossed three scoreless innings with two strikeouts in the Eagles, 7-0, win over the Gators in Gainesville. Adams leads the Georgia Southern staff with four wins and five decisions.

Kennesaw State enters with their longest winning streak since they began the season with five straight wins. Sean McClurken was named the A-Sun Player of the Week after going 10-for-19 last week as the Owls beat Georgia and swept Lipscomb in a three-game series at Stillwell Stadium.

McClurken has hit his stride as the Owls leadoff hitter. Since taking over as the Owls leadoff spot on Feb. 27 against Memphis, the senior second baseman is batting .375 and has hit safely in 11 of 13 games. With an on-base percentage of .476 and averaging a run scored per game, McClurken has been a major reason the Owls have rocketed to the top of the conference standings.

Eric Phillips leads the Georgia Southern offense with a .474 mark as Georgia Southern enters the game with a .309 team batting average. Five everyday players are hitting over three hundred for Georgia Southern as the Eagles offense is averaging nearly eight runs and over 11 hits per game per game.

First pitch between the Owls and the Eagles is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at J.I. Clement Stadium and can be followed via live stats.
