GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Kennesaw State men’s golf team finished the Furman Intercollegiate in second place, shooting a (282-290-288/860, -16). The Owls began the afternoon in first place, but succumbed to the pressure applied by the surging Clemson Tigers.

The great play of sophomore Ben Greene and Matt Nagy led the Owls to their eighth consecutive top-10 finish of the season. Greene finished in fourth place carding a (70-70-71/211, -5). His accomplishment totaled 11 birdies and 2 eagles over 36-holes.
Nagy recorded his third consecutive top-five finish with a fourth place showing, shooting a (68-73-71/ 212, -4), tallying 13 birdies and one eagle along the way.
Junior Jeff Karlsson finished T-24th posting a (73-73-72/218, +2), totaling 11 birdies for the tournament. Freshman Jonathan Klotz turned in a (71-75-77/223, +7) to finish T-41st, while senior Chad Wilson finished T-45th totaling a (76-74-74/224, +8).
As an individual competitor, Peder Lunde Hermansson finished T-69th shooting a (77-75-76/228, +12.)
“We had a great week overall, I just wish we could have given Clemson a better run at the end,” head coach Jay Moseley said. “We made some mistakes on the greens, but we will re-group and be ready for next week. A second place finish in this field is nothing to be ashamed of.”
The Black and Gold will be back in action Mar.27-29th as the team will co-host with Mercer the Linger Longer Invitational at Reynolds Plantation’s Great Water Course.
