KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State saw its 5-1 lead evaporate as Harvard rallied for nine runs over the last two innings to defeat the Owls, 10-6, on Wednesday afternoon at Stillwell Stadium.

Kennesaw State led, 5-1, with one out in the eighth inning before Harvard rallied for five runs against reliever Alan Busenitz. With runners on first and third after a single and an error by Owls first baseman Andy Chriscaden, Harvard first baseman Danny Moskovits doubled and Tyler Albright ripped a two-run single to right-center field to bring the Crimson to within a run of the Owls.

Samuel Franklin drew a walk after working a full count as the Owls brought in closer J.B. Johnson. Jake McGuiggan then drove a 1-1 pitch down the right field line, scoring Albright and Franklin and giving Harvard a 6-5 lead. The Crimson (1-9) would add four more runs in the top of the ninth inning on back-to-back, two-out errors by the Owls.

The Owls (10-8) manufactured a run in the first inning as Sean McClurken and Aaron Dobbs walked. McClurken went to third on a long fly ball to center field and scored on Andy Chriscaden’s sacrifice fly to right field.

After Harvard (1-9) tied the game in the top of the third inning, Kennesaw State scored three runs in the bottom of the inning when Andy Chriscaden tripled to center field and Drew Fowlkes lined a two-run home run over the right field fence for a 4-1 lead.

The Black and Gold would add a run in the fourth inning when Bucky Smith led off with a double, his fourth double in his last six at-bats, and scored when Chris Wages’ grounder was misplayed by Harvard second baseman Jeff Reynolds.

Catlan Kendrick was impressive in his first start of the season. Over five and two-third innings, Kendrick allowed just one run on six hits while posting four strikeouts. He left in the sixth inning when Harvard loaded the bases after two outs with a double, hit batter and a walk. Busenitz used just one pitch to get Dillon O’Neill to ground to third base.

The loss is the Owls fifth in their last six games and their second straight loss at Stillwell Stadium. It was also Kennesaw State's third straight non-conference home loss in a row.
