KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State’s women’s basketball team will wrap up their home schedule with an Atlantic Sun Conference contest against Belmont Saturday at noon before their trip to the General  Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Conference Championship next week.

A win over Belmont (9-19, 6-13) would give KSU (9-18, 6-13) the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament where they would meet North Florida or Campbell.  A loss to Belmont would give KSU the No. 7 seed, pairing them with Stetson for the first round of play.

The Lady Owls’ Sametria Gideon led KSU to victory last night, setting a career-high with 22 rebounds along scoring 14 points in a, 68-58, win over Lipscomb in A-Sun action.   Coming back from being down by 12 points at the half, KSU went on a, 26-6, run in the first 11 minutes of the second half and was able to hold the Lady Bisons to just 21 points in the second half to secure the win.

Belmont was able to squeak by Mercer last night in a, 67-62, overtime win in Macon.  Junior Haley Nelson led the Lady Bruins with 20 points and 11 rebounds.   KSU fell to Belmont earlier this season (Dec. 16) in Nashville, 71-55.

The Lady Owls final home game this Saturday will be the 4th Annual Think Pink game.  KSU will wear pink uniforms in honor of breast cancer awareness and all fans are encouraged to participate by wearing pink.
