KSU vs. Ga. St. Box Score
KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team dropped a tough non-conference matchup to in-state rival Georgia State by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The loss drops the Owls to 5-4 on the season, while the win improves Georgia State to 11-3.
Kennesaw State started the match playing some inspired tennis in doubles action as they pushed Georgia State to the limit, but eventually lose the doubles point 2-1.
The No. 2 doubles team of junior Simon Janik and sophomore Elliot Kahler took home the Black and Gold's doubles win with a 8-4 victory over Georgia State's
Trenton Spinks Vincent Verpeaux.
In singles play, the Owls were just outmatched as they lost all six singles matches in straight sets.
"I liked the effort and energy we showed in doubles as I saw some good things out there," head coach T.J. Greggs said. "In singles, we just simply faced some very talented players, but we will put this one behind us and start preparing for conference play."
Kennesaw State's next match is on Friday, Mar. 4 against Belmont.
