JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team earned a berth Sunday into the General Shale Brick Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.  While the Lady Owls fell to North Florida, 66-57, they earned a berth into the tournament by virtue of Mercer's loss to Jacksonville.

In Sunday's game against the Ospreys, Chelcey Farrar had a career-high 16 points for the Lady Owls, as KSU (8-18, 5-13) stayed close on the road but couldn't pull out the victory.  KSU led in the first half, 19-15, after Ashley Holliday made three free-throws after being fouled on a shot from beyond the arc.  However, over the last 4:58 of the opening half, UNF scored seven of the final eight points to take a, 22-20, lead into the locker room.

Turnovers would prove to be costly in the second half for the Lady Owls, as KSU turned the ball over 12 times.  The Ospreys (13-14, 11-7) would take advantage of KSU's miscues to the tune of 17 points, building their lead to as high as 11 in the second half.  KSU led in the second half by as many as three, 37-34, but a 17-3 run by the Ospreys would give UNF a double-digit lead.

Holliday joined Farrar in double-figures for the Lady Owls with 11 points.  Lisa Capellan scored four points but added eight rebounds and five assists.

Jadhken Kerr matched Farrar for game-high honors with 16 points to lead UNF.  Taylor Smith added 14 points while Brittany Kirkland netted 10.

KSU will be back in action this Thursday at the KSU Convocation Center as it plays host to Lipscomb in A-Sun action.  Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.
