KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team is looking to improve upon their best start in program history on Tuesday afternoon as they take on Jacksonville State in their fifth match in as many days.

The Black and Gold are looking to ride their momentum that they gained from last weekend as the Owls went 3-1 to improve their overall record to 5-2 for the season.

Head Coach #T.J. Greggs# knows his team will have to execute their game plans if the Black and Gold want to defeat Jacksonville State as they are 0-1 all-time against the Gamecocks.

“Jacksonville State is a solid team, and we are going to need to bring out all of our weapons if we want to pull off the upset,” coach Greggs said. “They were picked third in their conference, but I am confident that if we play a complete match we can pull out a victory.  We have been playing some great doubles this season, so I look to get off to a strong start and ride the momentum from there.”

The Turkish doubles team of sophomores Gianni Kubin and Gokalp Ozdemir have led the way when it comes to the Owls doubles play as they have combined to go 5-2 this season at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.

Jacksonville State enters this match with a 2-2 record, and is led by Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Top-10 player, Brian Kenyon.

The match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. eastern time, 2 p.m. central time.
