KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women’s tennis team looks to remain perfect to start the 2011 season as they return to the court after a two-week layoff to take on four teams in two days this weekend.
The Owls will begin their rigorous two-day stretch on Friday in Young Harris, Ga. as they will take on Young Harris at 10 a.m. and then Presbyterian later that afternoon at 1 p.m. After Friday’s matches are completed the Black and Gold will travel to Montgomery, Ala. for two more matches on Saturday against Alabama State at 10 a.m. and Alabama A&M at 2 p.m.
Kennesaw State has had mixed results against this weekend’s opponents as they have a combined all-time record of 7-6 against these four teams.
Head Coach Jeff Kutac knows the weekend will provide a good challenge for his team.
“We look forward to the challenge of playing the two doubleheaders in the next two days against some pretty solid teams,” coach Kutac said. “We had a good week of practice and I think we are all looking forward to getting back out onto the court.”
Freshman Alexandra Apostu will look to continue her surprising start to her rookie campaign as she has yet to taste defeat this season posting a 4-0 record through the Owls first two matches.
Kennesaw State is one of five undefeated teams left in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
