NASHVILLE - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team will look to bounce back after a tough loss to open Atlantic Sun Conference play when it takes on Lipscomb Saturday afternoon at 3:15 p.m. at Allen Arena.
The Lady Owls (2-4, 0-1) are coming off a heartbreaking, 57-55, loss to Belmont to open conference play Thursday night. Taylor Mills had a game-high 15 points to lead the Lady Owls, while Sametria Gideon had a game-best 14 rebounds.
"Our players have to realize that, even if things aren't going well for them offensively, they can still contribute in other ways," said KSU head coach Colby Tilley. "We had a good day of practice today, and I think we're going to see an improved effort on the court tomorrow."
Lipscomb (1-7, 1-0) earned its first victory of the season with an, 80-70, win over Mercer Thursday night in the A-Sun opener for both schools. The Lady Bisons broke open a 35-35 tie at halftime on the strength of strong shooting from the free-throw line. As a team, Lipscomb hit 34-of-43 attempts from the charity stripe, setting a new school record for free-throw makes in a game.
Kennesaw State is 7-3 all-time against the Lady Bisons. Last season, the two squads played a pair of 68-58 contests. Lipscomb won the first meeting by that score in Nashville, while the Lady Owls matched the effort in the season's second meeting in Kennesaw.
