KENNESAW, Ga. - Fresh off a six-game road trip, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team will return to the KSU Convocation Center for a Saturday afternoon contest with UNC Asheville.  Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m.

The Lady Owls (3-6) will play on their home court for just the third time this season.  In their last home contest, the Lady Owls soared past Jacksonville State, 81-67.  Since that Nov. 19 contest, KSU has gone just 1-5, with the lone win being a 19-point blowout of Lipscomb back on Dec. 3.

In their most recent contest, the Lady Owls fell to Georgia State, 65-59.  KSU started the game by scoring the first eight points, but Georgia State rallied to build its lead as high as 15 in the second half.  While KSU would continue to battle, they could get no closer in the final five minutes than the margin of defeat.

Taylor Mills scored 26 points in the loss at Georgia State, connecting on seven 3-pointers in the process.  Mills regained the team lead in scoring with her offensive output Wednesday night, bringing her season average up to 14.4 points per game.  Lisa Capellan was also solid for the Lady Owls in defeat, netting a career-best 13 points.

Including Wednesday night's loss, KSU has now had five games this season in which its leading scorer cleared the 20-point mark.  Unfortunately, that hasn't always been a harbinger for success.  KSU is just 2-3 in those contests, with the wins coming over Jacksonville State (Ashley Holliday - 23) and Lipscomb (Mills - 28).

UNC Asheville (2-5) boasts one of the best rebounders in the country in junior Kelli Riles.  A redshirt junior, Riles is leading all of Division I with 13.3 rebounds per game.  In a loss to USC Upstate earlier this year, Riles set a Big South Conference record with 28 rebounds in the contest.  She is also one of the best free-throw shooters in the country, connecting on 25-of-27 (92.6 percent) through the first seven games.

The Bulldogs last played Dec. 10, falling at home to Appalachian State, 85-71.  Three of Asheville's contests have been on the road this season, with the Bulldogs failign to come out on top in any of those games.

The two teams have played just one time before, with UNC Asheville defeating the Lady Owls, 86-79, on Dec. 29, 2006, in Macon, Ga.

ASun.TV and KSU All-Access will provide full coverage of the event, beginning approximately 10 minutes prior to tipoff.
