CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team will take on its second straight Atlantic Coast Conference opponent when it faces No. 16 North Carolina this Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Carmichael Arena.

The Lady Owls (2-2) saw their two-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of Georgia Tech last Tuesday at The Arena at Gwinnett Center.  Taylor Mills led KSU with 17 points in the, 94-51, loss to the Yellow Jackets.  Kristina Wells, who won the Atlantic Sun Conference's Newcomer of the Week award last Tuesday, also scored in double-figures with 12 points in the contest.  Wells has now scored in double figures in each of her last three contests.

While the Lady Owls lost to Georgia Tech, there were still bright spots to be taken from the contest.  KSU forced Georgia Tech into a season-high 17 turnovers.  Six of the seven KSU players who were on the court recorded both a steal and an assist.  As a team, KSU had 13 assists on 16 made field goals.

This will be the fourth time the Lady Owls have visited North Carolina, as the two teams have met in each of the past three seasons.  Last season, the two teams met March 13, after the conclusion of the A-Sun and ACC tournament.  In that contest, Ashley Holliday scored a game-high 17 points as the Lady Owls fell, 98-52.

"Even though we're playing North Carolina tomorrow, we're still preparing for Belmont and Lipscomb next week," said KSU head coach Colby Tilley.  "Our ultimate goal is to win our conference.  Games like tomorrow are going to help us be ready for conference play."

North Carolina (4-0) is coming off a, 61-38, victory over Presbyterian last Tuesday.  Chay Shegog scored a game-high 23 points as the Tar Heels won their 400th game all-time at Carmichael Arena.

The two teams have already played one common opponent this season.  The Lady Owls defeated Gardner-Webb, 68-48, in Boiling Springs, N.C., Nov. 15.  The Tar Heels topped GWU, 109-44, in their season opener.

Audio of tomorrow's game will be available via KSU All-Access with Art Eckman and Jason Hanes on the call of the contest.
