SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Kennesaw State’s Ket Preamchuen remains tied for fourth at the Alamo Invitational after posting a 71, -1 on Monday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
The Owls moved up two spots to 10th after round two, totaling a 304-296=600, +24 as Preamchuen led the squad for the second day. Her only discoloration in round two came on a double bogey on the par-four ninth, but was annulled with two birdies on the back nine.
"Today's round was a lot more consistent, in the fact we did a much better job of taking it shot-by-shot," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Ket's round was again very impressive today. Our goal is to put together a strong finish tomorrow and crack the top-10."
Freshman Minami Levonowich is tied for 51st; carding a 73, +1 during her second round, while sophomore Hayley Clinning is tied for 56th and sophomore Lindsay Adams is tied for 59th. Just four positions back, Léa Charpier is tied for 63rd totaling a 156, +12.
Nebraska holds the team lead, as the Corn Huskers are the only squad sub-par at 574, -2. Host school UTSA and Baylor are tied for second, each at 576, E, while defending champion TCU (579, +3) is fourth and Texas Tech (580, +4) rounds out the top-five.
There is a two-way tie for the individual lead as Baylor’s Hayley Davis and Central Florida’s Monifa Sealy each totaled a 140, -4. UTSA’s Fabiola Arriaga (141, -3) is alone in third with Preamchuen and three others tied for fourth.
The Owls will tee off for the final round on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. E.T. and will be paired with New Mexico State and Minnesota. Live stats of the Alamo Invitational can be viewed at Golfstat.com.
