LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kennesaw State women’s golf team finished in eighth place at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational after posting a 322-319- 315= 956, +92 at the University Club of Kentucky, Big Blue Course.
The Owls placed two individuals in the top-15 as junior Ket Preamchun finished tied for 10th and freshman Léa Charpier placed tied for 14th.
Preamchuen posted a 54-hole score of 82-77-75=234, +18 to guide the Black and Gold up two spots in the final round, while Charpier finished just one stroke behind her teammate with an 81-78-76=235, +19.
Freshman Minami Levonowich finished tied for 40th after shooting an 80-83-80=243, +27 and sophomore Hayley Clinning concluded only a stroke beyond Levonowich as she finished tied for 44th, carding a 79-81-84=244, +28 to round out the scoring for the Owls.
Also competing was sophomore Lindsay Adams who shot an 84-86-88=258, +42 to tie for 79th.
After concluding rounds one and two in second place, host school Kentucky (924, +60) mounted a final round comeback to overtake UCF (932, +68). The Wildcats posted the tournaments best round of 303 in the final round of play as the individual medalist winner Ashleigh Albrecht led the way.
Albrecht posted a 225, +9 to oust the Knights’ Kaitlyn Price (226, +10) by only one-stroke.
