NORMAN, Okla. – For the second consecutive day the Kennesaw State women’s golf team has posted their lowest 18-hole round of the 2011 fall season as the Owls carded a 294, +6 (592, +16 total) at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic to finish round two in sixth place.
The Black and Gold were led by the play of freshman Léa Charpier, as the native of France shot a 70, -2 to move into a tie for 17th place. Charpier got off to a quick start as she opened the round three-under-par after four holes.
Sophomore Ket Preamchuen dropped from the top of the leader board after shooting a 74, +2 and remains tied for fifth, while both Minami Levonowich and Hayley Clinning posted a 75, +3 as the freshman Levonowich is tied for 40th with Clinning tied for 62nd. Sophomore Lindsay Adams falls to tied for 66th after turning in an 80, +8.
Texas A&M moved into first place after turning in the tournaments best round of 283, -5 to remain five-under-par for the Classic. The Sooners lead host school Oklahoma and Florida State by seven-strokes as each team is tied at 578, +2.
The Sooners Anne Tanguay (-5) is the individual leader as she holds a one-stroke lead over second place and is just three shots ahead of Preamchuen (-2).
The Owls will tee off for the final round on Tuesday with a shotgun start on hole-seven at 10 a.m. E.T., and will be paired with Texas Tech and New Mexico.
