KENNESAW, Ga. - After a week between games, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team will be back in action this Saturday as it continues an Atlantic Sun Conference road trip against Florida Gulf Coast. Tip-off in Ft. Myers, Fla., is set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday night.
The Lady Owls (3-10, 0-5) are still searching for their first A-Sun win of the season. Last time out, Kennesaw State was within four points of Campbell with just under five minutes to go, but Campbell pulled away for a, 68-58, victory. Sametria Gideon recorded her sixth double-double of the season and her second in a row with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, while Angie Smith led all scorers with 17.
Kennesaw State is doing very well in some of the NCAA rankings. With 9.6 rebounds per contest, Gideon ranks 41st in the NCAA in rebounds per game. As a team, KSU ranks 88th nationally in steals per game with 8.8. In their last three games, the Lady Owls are averaging 15 steals per contest. Smith has moved up the A-Sun rankings in steals per conference game with 3.40, good for second in the conference. In conference games, the Lady Owls are averaging 12.60 steals per game.
Florida Gulf Coast (12-0, 5-0) is ranked No. 3 in the latest CollegeInsider.com Women's Basketball Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The Eagles are also receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
FGCU leads the all-time series against the Lady Owls, 5-1. KSU's lone win over the Eagles came Feb. 16, 2008, when the Lady Owls won at the KSU Convocation Center, 55-52.

Following Saturday's game, the Lady Owls will travel north in the state of Florida to DeLand to face Stetson in an A-Sun contest. Tip-off at the Edmunds Center on Monday is set for 7 p.m.
