KENNESAW, Ga. - Freshman Ronnie Freeman extended his hitting streak to 26 as the Kennesaw State baseball team fell to Troy, 19-6, on Tuesday afternoon at Stillwell Stadium.

The Owls (21-31) fell into a big hole early as the Trojans scored two runs in the second and tacked on nine in the third.  KSU didn't get on the board until the bottom of the fourth when Freeman scored on Sean McClurken's bases loaded walk.

Troy (30-22) tacked on a run in the fifth, but the Owls answered with a run of their own as Bucky Smith scored when Drew Fowlkes reached on an error.  Fowlkes picked up an RBI on the play, his 41st of the season.

The Trojans put the game out of reach in the eighth with six more runs.  A two-run single by Tyler Stubblefield in the bottom of the inning gave the Owls their third and fourth runs of the game.  In the ninth, a double off the wall in left by Peyton Hart scored Fowlkes.  A sacrifice fly one batter later by Brandon Brown plated Joe Gorley with the final run of the game.

Jeff Brown (0-2) took the loss after allowing eight runs in 2.2 innings of work.  Cass Abercrombie earned the win for Troy, improving to 2-0 on the year.

The Owls will wrap up their regular season when they take on East Tennessee State this Thursday and Friday.  Thursday's first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
