KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's baseball team will look to get back on the winning track as it hosts metro Atlanta rival Georgia State Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at Stillwell Stadium.
The Owls (7-10) fell to Georgia Southern, 8-7, Tuesday night in Kennesaw. Tyler Stubblefield, Josh Whitaker, and Peyton Hart each had a pair of RBIs for the Owls, who couldn't hold a 7-6 lead entering the eighth inning. For the Owls, it would prove to be their second loss when leading after seven innings this season. Hart added to his team-leading RBI total, moving up to 16 on the season.
Georgia State enters the contest with an 8-7 mark after taking two out of three from New Mexico State over the weekend. The Panthers have found their offensive groove as of late. After being held to 26 runs over their first six contests, the Panthers swept a four-game series from North Carolina Central by an aggregate score of 103-10. Georgia State has scored at least 11 runs in each of its past nine contests, going 8-1 in the process.
The Owls and Panthers have met just one time before on the baseball diamond. Last season, Georgia State pitched its entire weekend rotation during a Tuesday night game in Kennesaw, defeating the Owls 5-4.
