DAYTON, Ohio - The Kennesaw State Owls men's tennis team heads to Ohio this weekend to take on the University of Dayton and Wright State University in first time meetings with both programs.
Wright State (1-2) enters Friday’s match featuring the No. 39 doubles team in the nation in the form of the brothers Landon and Evan Neuman. The Raiders are coming off of their first victory of the season, a 6-1 win over Robert Morris. Wright State sported a 5-16 record a year ago under first-year head coach Sean McCaffrey.
"Wright State is an up-and-coming program just like us," remarked Owls head coach T.J. Greggs. "I know they will see this as a big opportunity to play a team from a stronger conference, and we will be prepared for the challenge."
Dayton will face off with the Owls on Saturday to finish off the weekend. The Flyers (1-4) enter the match on a three-match skid, after dropping contests to Purdue, Western Michigan and Valparaiso. Dayton features All-Atlantic 10 Conference senior Michael Rohana as their top player.
"Dayton should be a good test for us," added Greggs. " I feel confident we can compete well this weekend and come home with two victories if we remain focused and motivated throughout the lineup."
The Owls and Wright State will meet at the South Regency Tennis Club on Friday at 11:30 a.m. and KSU will play Dayton on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Queen City Racquet Club in Cincinnati.
