Owls face Jacksonville State in first road test of 2010

2/23/2010 1:23:40 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's baseball team will have its first road test of the 2010 season Wednesday afternoon as it travels to face Jacksonville State Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. CST in Jacksonville, Ala.

The Owls (0-3) are coming off a tough, three-game sweep at the hands of Liberty last weekend.  KSU hitters struggled, hitting just .194 against the Flames over the series.  Owls pitching struggled at times as well, giving up at least 10 runs in all three games played.

Sean Fream (0-1) will get the start for the Owls.  The sophomore started Saturday's contest but was lifted after facing 10 batters and walking seven.

Jacksonville State (0-4) traveled to Lubbock, Texas, for the Red Raider Classic hosted by Texas Tech to open their 2010 season.  The Gamecocks came up on the short end of the stick in all four contests, losing to the host Red Raiders and Michigan twice during the weekend.  Robby Lilly (0-0) is slated to get the start for the Gamecocks.  The freshman lefty gave up three runs in two innings of work in JSU's season-opener against Michigan Friday night.

Following Wednesday's contest, the Owls will return home for a three-game series against the Samford Bullodgs.  First pitch in Friday's game at Stillwell Stadium is scheduled for 4 p.m.
