KENNESAW, GA - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team dominated their home opener today at the KSU Tennis Center, downing the Eagles of North Carolina Central by a 7-0 count.  The Owls (4-5, 0-1 A-Sun) were dominant throughout, not dropping a set against the Eagles (2-4).  Last season, the match came down to the wire, with the Owls pulling out the victory 4-3.

The Owls started off the match by overwhelming the Eagles in the doubles, with victories at all three positions.  The success continued in singles, where the Owls were led by sophomore Tyler Mills, who avenged a loss a year ago to Eagle #1 Jack Waissen, defeating him 7-5, 6-4 at the top spot.

"I was really pleased with the team today," commented head coach T.J. Greggs.  "That was such a strong match for us, as this team gave us fits last season.  We've really improved in our second season, and I hope this is the one of many positive moments this season."

Michael Langel improved to a team best 6-3 this spring with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Jose Fabara.  Simon Janik, Gokalp Ozdemir, Gianni Kubin and Elliot Kahler also picked up singles victories for the Owls.

The team returns to the KSU Tennis Center on Tuesday for a matchup with the Presbyterian College Blue Hose, in a rematch of the debut match for the Owl tennis program last year, a 6-1 loss at Presbyterian's campus.  First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.  Parking is available for fans in the East Parking Lot on campus.
