Lady Owls Return Home

KSU faces Chattanooga Tuesday night

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team will try to snap a four-game losing streak Tuesday night as it faces Chattanooga in the final contest at the KSU Convocation Center for 2010.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

The Lady Owls (2-6) are 1-1 in home contests this season, defeating Alabama State, 70-67, but falling Dec. 2 to Gardner-Webb, 58-46.  In their last two contests, the Lady Owls fell in road games at Belmont and at Lipscomb to start the Atlantic Sun Conference slate.

Sametria Gideon has been dominating on the glass for the Lady Owls in the first one-third of the season.  The sophomore currently ranks 23rd in the NCAA in rebounds per game, averaging 10.3.  Gideon is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.9 points per game.  Her four double-doubles rank her in a tie for 35th in the NCAA.

Chattanooga (3-7) is off to the worst 10-game start for the team since the 1995-96 campaign.  For the Lady Owls to be successful, they will have to slow down Lady Mocs guard Whitney Hood.  Hood is averaging 20.8 points per game, whch leads the Southern Conference and is 14th in the NCAA.  The Lady Mocs have lost three straight contests, two of which were SoCon contests.

Admission to the KSU Convocation Center is $3 for the evening, or fans can enter free by printing a flier available by clicking here.  Santa Claus will be in attendance, taking pictures with fans for free.

Following Tuesday night's game, the Lady Owls will be in action next Tuesay, Dec. 28, at Jacksonville State.  Tip-off in that contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST, with live audio available via KSUOwls.com
