KSU battles Lipscomb in second A-Sun game of the season

12/18/2010 4:09:40 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team will try to even its Atlantic Sun Conference record when it takes on Lipscomb Saturday evening at 6 p.m. CST from Allen Arena in Nashville.

The Lady Owls (2-5, 0-1) are coming off a, 71-55, loss to Belmont last Thursday night in the A-Sun opener for KSU.  Sametria Gideon had 14 points and nine rebounds, while Tamasha Bolden scored 12 points and Angie Smith netted 10.

KSU struggled offensively in the first half against Belmont, connecting on just 9-of-33 shots from the field in falling behind by 17 after the first 20 minutes of play.  KSU will try to get a better start against a Lipscomb squad that hasn't played since Dec. 8 due to final exams.  Thursday night's game against Belmont was also the first game for KSU since Dec. 2 due to the quiet period for final exams.

The two teams split the season series last year, with each team winning on its home court.  KSU won the early-season match-up Dec. 5, 2009, by a 70-52 score.  Lipscomb would win the second and final meeting in Nashville, 64-56, Feb. 25, 2010.

Live stats and free live audio for the contest will be available via Lipscombsports.com or by clicking here.

Saturday's game will be the final A-Sun contest of 2010 for the Lady Owls, as KSU will not play an A-Sun foe again until Jan. 3, 2011 at home against USC Upstate.  KSU's next contest will be a home tilt with Chattanooga this Tuesday at 7 p.m.  Admission is three dollars for patrons, or is free by bringing the flier avaiable by clicking here to the box office at the KSU Convocation Center the evening of the game.
