BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Kennesaw State Junior Jeff Karlsson and his team of fellow Sweden players finished tied for 13th at the World Amateur Team Championship. The threesome of Karlsson, Jesper Kennegard of Arizona State and Henrik Norlander of Augusta State posted a 141-146-158/445, +15 over three days of play on both the Buenos Aires Golf Course and the Olivos Golf Club.
After finishing round one tied for fourth place, the Swedish team dropped after a rainy day two. Posting their worse round of the tournament on Sunday in round three, the team finished at 158, +14 to drop the to 13th.
Norlander led the fight for the Swedish team posting a 70-75-77, +7 over 54-holes finishing tied for 20th amongst all individuals. Kennegard finished tied for 53rd shooting a 75-71-81/227, +12. Karlsson, who started the final round tied for 25th shooting a 71-75/146, +3, posted a final round score of 83, +11 ending the tournament tied for 71st.
The overall winner for the team event was France shooting a 137-142-144/423, -7. Denmark finished in second posting a 139-141-147/427, -3, while the United States finished third with a 143-142-143/428, -2.
Joachim Hansen of Denmark won the individual title after posting a 67-69-73/209, -6. France finished two and three after Alexander Levy shot a 68-72-72/212, -3, while his fellow countryman Romain Wattel posted a 69-70-74/213, -2.
