KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team took advantage of 27 East Tennessee State turnovers to score 28 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Owls fell to ETSU, 90-59, on a snowy Thursday afternoon at the KSU Convocation Center in an Atlantic Sun Conference game.
Gia Lockett led the Lady Owls with 14 points, while Sametria Gideon netted 12 for KSU, who as a team outscored ETSU from the free-throw line, 15-6.
ETSU (5-7, 3-1) had four players in double-figures, led by Taria Gordon's 21 points. Gordon was the only player in the contest to complete a double-double, dishing out 12 assists.
The Lady Bucs went 19-of-30 from the field in the first half en route to a 47-23 lead at the break. The visitors scored the first seven points of the second half and never led by fewer than 28 the rest of the way, taking the 90-59 win.
The Lady Owls (4-10, 1-4) had more offensive rebounds than ETSU and outscored the Lady Bucs in second-chance points, 12-6. However, ETSU scored 26 fast-break points in the contest with the Lady Owls unable to get any easy buckets in transition.
