KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's women's basketball team will look to close its four-game road trip on a high note as it faces atlantic Sun Conference foe Jacksonville University on Monday afternoon at 5 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Lady Owls (4-8, 1-2) are coming off a 68-51 loss to North Florida in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Angie Smith led the Lady Owls in scoring with 16 points, while senior Gia Lockett had 14 to pace the KSU offense in the loss. The loss was KSU's fourth straight overall. Three of those losses have come on the current road trip, as KSU lost at Georgia Southern and No. 7 North Carolina before last Saturday's loss.
Smith and Lockett are KSU's leading scorers through the first 12 games of the season. The sophomore and the senior have each played in all 12 games, with Smith scoring 149 points (12.4 per game) and Lockett just behind at 141 (11.8).
Jacksonville (2-9, 1-2) had dropped seven straight contests before cruising to a 72-57 win over Mercer last Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins have only played three games at home this season, with the Dolphins going 2-1 in those games. Courtney Jackson is averaging a team-best 10.9 points per game Desarae Johnson is averaging 10.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
Following Monday's contest, the Lady Owls will return home to face A-Sun rival East Tennessee State this Thursday at a special start time of 3 p.m.
