After a two week break, the Owls will jump back into action this weekend, when they travel to Alabama to compete in the Troy Invitational on Sept. 25-27.
The Owls got their Fall Season off to an impressive start in their first tournament at the Auburn University Montgomery Invitational on Sept. 11-13.
The team looked exceptionally strong on the first day of competition, taking home six singles victories, while claiming seven wins in doubles competition.
They will look to continue that success this weekend at Troy University’s Lunsford Tennis Complex where they will face competition from Auburn Montgomery, University of South Alabama, University of Alabama Birmingham, Georgia State and Texas Tech, as well as conference rivals Jacksonville, and Mercer.
"I hope we are able to maintain the positive momentum achieved two weeks ago in Montgomery,” Director of Tennis Operations TJ Greggs said. “We played a solid tournament as a team and every girl made a contribution to the successful weekend.”
This weekend will mark the first time Troy has hosted the event. Play is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, and continuing through Sunday.
“Troy is a solid program and there are several other strong teams competing, so it will give our team a chance to gauge our progress,” Greggs said.
