Following last weekend's rain-shortened appearance at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, Ga., the Owls will look to get back on track when they head to Alabama to compete in the Troy Invitational on Sept. 25-27.
This weekend will be the Owl’s third tournament of the Fall Season. The team opened up their season with an impressive start at the Georgia Southern Invitational on Sept. 11-13, before rain cut competition short in their second tournament of the year.
The Troy Invitational is set to take place at the Lunsford Tennis Complex, with this weekend marking the first time the Trojans have hosted the event.
After watching, and in some case, facing some of the premiere tennis programs in the south last weekend, the Owls will face another strong field at Troy including teams from Auburn Montgomery, Tennessee Tech, Tulane, and Mercer, among others.
"I am hoping for decent weather, so we can continue to work on our doubles play,” Head Coach Brandon Padgett said. “We really need to focus our energy on communication this weekend."
The tournament is set to kick off at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, and continue through Sunday.
