Box Score

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State's Atlantic Sun Conference baseball game with Jacksonville has been suspended with the game tied 1-1 in the top of the 11th. The game will be completed beginning at 12:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Owls tied the score on a single by Jacob Robbins with two men out in the ninth.

A tremendous pitching contest was dampened by lightning and rain. Kyle Heckathorn worked eight innings. giving up one run on nine hits with eight strikeouts, while Carson Andrew pitched 6.2 innings of three-hit, shutout baseball.

The Owls trailed with two men out in the ninth inning, but with an 0-1 pitch, Jon White doubled deep into the left center field gap to put a runner in scoring position. One batter later and on a full count pitch, Robbins singled through the left side. KSU head coach Mike Sansing rolled the dice and waved White home. The roll of the dice put the score at snake eyes, as White slid in safely with the game-tying run.

Jacksonville scored its run in the top of the seventh when Chris Opachich singled through the right side, scoring Kevin Lehane.

Both teams had chances to score more runs in the contest. The Dolphins left a runner on third in each of the first three innings. The Owls had a runner thrown out at the plate when Clint Roques was thrown out at the plate on White's double into the corner in right.

If the two teams play until the 14th inning, the teams will only play one game of the scheduled doubleheader Saturday afternoon. If the teams play less than 14 innings, both games of the doubleheader will be contested Saturday.
