Final Stats
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Owls Florida road trip didn't prove too kind as the men's tennis team dropped its second match in two days, 6-1 to Atlantic Sun Conference rival Jacksonville on Saturday.
Ryan Bouttell continued his run of strong play, picking up the Owls (4-8, 0-3) lone point with a 7-5, 0-6, 10-6 win over Murilo Sauza at No. 4. The win moved Bouttell's record to 7-2 on the season.
The Dolphins (8-4, 4-2) took the early lead and never looked back, winning all three doubles matches to go up 1-0. It only took JU three matches in singles to seal the win as they took spots one through three in straight sets.
"The guys continue to play well and show growth as a team," said Kennesaw State Head Coach Brandon Padgett on the loss. "Developing into collegiate-level players is the goal, and they are doing that one match at a time."
The team will return to Kennesaw for a Tuesday make-up match against USC-Upstate at the KSU Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
