KENNESAW, Ga. - Due to poor field conditions left by the recent storms that moved through the Kennesaw area, Monday's Atlantic Sun Conference baseball game between Kennesaw State and Campbell, scheduled for 1:00 p.m., has been canceled.
Yesterday, a storm system moved through the metropolitan Atlanta area, leaving as much as five inches of snow in its wake. Temperatures then dropped well below freezing during the night last night and into this morning, freezing most of the snow and any that had melted during the day.
Heavy ice was in the outfield this morning at Stillwell Stadium. With temperatures only projected to get above freezing by first pitch and not before, and even then not high enough to cause significant melting, the decision was made to cancel the game.
Today's game would have been a make-up of Friday afternoon's game, which was canceled due to heavy rain.
The Owls will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Montgomery, Ala., to take on Alabama State.
