JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team turned in its best performance of the season Tuesday, using the strength of three top 20 individual finishes to claim fourth place at the James Madison/Eagle Landing Invitational.

After setting numerous school team and individual records on Monday, the Owls slid back slightly after closing with a 306 in Tuesday's final round. The Owls still managed to add anther record, as their 895 54-hole total is the lowest in school history by more than 50 strokes.

Patricia Arana led the team with an even-par 72 in the final round, moving up the leaderboard two spots to finish tied for seventh with her teammate Ashley Aguilera at 220. Arana continued to display her ability to find the red numbers, leading the field in par five scoring (4.67) while finishing tied for third with nine birdies.

After setting a school record for the lowest individual 18 with her afternoon 69 on Monday, Aguilera slipped back to a tie for seventh after closing with a 79. The Owls junior finished second with 10 birdies and fourth in par four scoring (4.03). It was just the second time in over a year that the Owls have had two individuals finish in the top 10 in the same event.

Malin Becker managed to slide inside of the top 20 as well, recording her best collegiate finish after coming in tied for 19th at 227. Her final round 76 was the Owls second-lowest of the day. Jordan Lazenby rounded out the scoring for Kennesaw State, tying for 27th after carding an unlikely 79 on Tuesday.

The Owls as a team tied for the lead with 34 birdies while coming in third in par four scoring (4.17). UT-Chattanooga claimed both the team and individual titles. The Mocs cruised to the team championship holding a 13-stroke margin, and Emma de Groot took home the individual hardware after closing with a 69 and a four-under par 212 total.

They will play their next event on a short turnaround as they are scheduled to take part in the Samford Women's Intercollegiate on March 16th and 17th in Limestone Springs, Ala.
