MARIETTA, Ga. - Three homeruns and a solid pitching performance gave Kennesaw State a 5-1 victory over Drexel on Saturday afternoon in the second day of the K-Club Classic at All-Tournament Players Park.

Jessica Cross helped the Owls (5-5) get on the board in the first inning with a two-run homerun to left center field that also scored Klair Wells who walked to lead off the inning.

The Dragons (1-4) cut the Owls lead in half in the bottom of the second that began with a Paige Collings double who was driven in by Kelly Downes.

KSU's offense continued to get hot in the fourth and fifth innings when Kelsey Kulk hit her first homerun of the season to put the Owls up 3-1. In the very next inning, the Black and Gold added two more runs off of another homerun, this time from Jenna Closner.

The Owls held Drexel scoreless for the final two innings to give them the 5-1 victory.

Catherine Tarvin picked up her second win of the year, giving up three hits and striking out two in 4.0 innings. Amanda Burns received her first save, giving up only one hit in 3.0 innings.

Kulk led the offense for the Owls, going two-for-four while Closner, Cross, Burns and Hollie Huffman each collected one hit.

Kennesaw State plays their final game of the K-Club Classic tomorrow morning when they take on Iowa at 11:00 a.m. at Bailey Park. .
