KENNESAW, Ga. - After playing its first four games of the season at home, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season when the Lady Owls travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the DoubleTree Classic.  The Lady Owls will face the host Lady Mocs of Chattanooga at 7 p.m. Friday before battling either Evansville or Villanova in the second game Saturday at either 3 or 5 p.m.

The Lady Owls (2-2) enter after battling Clemson to a 75-69 loss Tuesday night in front of 783 fans at the KSU Convocation Center.  Angie Smith led the Lady Owls with 18 points, her fourth consecutive game scoring in double figures.  Gia Lockett scored 16 points, matching her season scoring average.

KSU is assured of playing two foes it has never faced before, as the Lady Owls have never played Chattanooga, Villanova, or Evansville.

Friday's opponent for KSU, Chattanooga (1-3) has played just one home game this season, with that being a 74-57 loss at the hands of Georgia.  The Lady Mocs have played consecutive Southeastern Conference foes, falling Monday evening at Kentucky, 65-55.  Shanara Hollingquest leads Chattanooga in scoring with 18.3 points per game.

Evansville (0-3) has yet to win a game this season.  Chelsea Falkenstein leads a trio of Purple Aces in double figures in scoring with 11.3 points per game.

Villanova (2-1) has scored fewer points than any of the other teams in the tournament, but has also held teams to fewer points.  In a win over Penn, Villanova allowed just 27 points in a 17-point victory.  Laura Sweeney, who has yet to start for Villanova in any of its games this year, leads the Wildcats with 9.0 points per game.
