KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Kennesaw State climbed another spot up the leader board to finish in third place as the final day of competition concluded at the Palmetto Invitational with the Owls overtaking conference rival Campbell, who began the day three strokes ahead.

"To finish third in this tournament is one of the highlights of my time at KSU," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Each player contributed to our finish and I could not be more proud of the team."

Kennesaw State started play on Tuesday, in fourth place after shooting consecutive rounds of 297 on Monday. With a 302 in round three the Owls climbed into third at 32-over par 896, defeating East Carolina who finished the tournament in fourth, by just one stroke.

"My putting felt great today," Preamchuen said. "I made a lot of crucial up and downs. I am really happy about my finish and the team’s finish."

Preamchuen was followed in the standings by Patricia Arana who ended the day in a tie for 26th at 10-over par 226 after a final round 79.

The Owls received a strong performance from their other freshman, Molly Winnett, as well. Winnett began the day, tied for 16th after shooting a 76 and 72 in the first two rounds. Despite carding an 81, her highest score of the tournament in the final round, Winnett finished in a tie for 34th at 13-over par 229.
