Final Stats
DELAND, Fla. - Rachel Baer scored two goals against Stetson in Atlantic Sun Conference play, but it wasn't enough as the Hatters handed the Owls a 3-2 loss on Sunday afternoon in DeLand, Fla.
Both teams were scoreless after the first half until Stetson's (2-5-2, 1-1-0) Emily Ware put the Hatters up 1-0 twenty-five seconds into the second half.
Baer quickly tied the game in the 47th minute off a corner kick from Caroline Austin.
Stetson scored two more goals to put them up 3-1 before Baer scored her second goal of the game in the 81st minute off a pass from Alyssa Mahan that put the Owls (5-3-3, 0-1-1) within one.
The Stetson defense was too much for KSU in the final minutes as they handed the Owls their first defeat in conference play.
Staci Pugh had five saves on the game while the Owls were out-shot 14-12.
Kennesaw State returns to A-Sun action on Friday, October 3 when they play host to Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. at the KSU Soccer Field.
