Box Score

KENNESAW, Ga.--The Kennesaw State volleyball team fell to 1-3 on its current homestand with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-12) loss to Tennessee-Chattanooga on Tuesday night at the KSU Convocation Center.

"We have to learn that to be consistent takes more than one person to do something on a regular basis. Until we do that we are going to be unsuccessful," said KSU head coach Valerie Jones. "Our players have to come in and work hard put aside all of the selfish excuses. Until they do that, teams are just going to come in and say, 'Thanks for the win.'"

The Owls scored the first three points of the match but UTC (6-9) scored the next six to take a lead they would never relinquish in the first set.

In the second set, the Owls were much more competitive, taking a 16-14 lead off of back-to-back kills by KSU. Again, UTC would get a timely run as the Lady Mocs scored the next five points to take a 19-16 lead. That would be enough as the Lady Mocs took the set, 25-21.

In the finale, the Owls dropped the first three points and never seriously challenged. KSU would pull within a point but didn't get any closer, falling 25-12.

The Owls (2-11) will be back in action on Saturday when they host Campbell in an Atlantic Sun Conference match. First serve is set for 5:00 p.m.
