After the first half and first ten minutes of the second saw 12 ties and 10 different lead changes, the Lady Owls and head coach Colby Tilley turned to Henderson and guard Greteya Kelley to carry the team down the stretch. With 11:52 remaining in the contest and the teams tied at 47 apiece, the dynamic duo took over, scoring KSU's next 12 points to put the Black and Gold ahead, 62-50.
A DeAndrea Bullock lay-up and Ashley Johnson jumper pushed the lead to 16 points (66-50), the most of the game and the Lady Owls played solid defense over the course of the last four minutes to cruise to the 12-point win.
Kennesaw State led by as many as seven in the first half, after a Nikki Gurley three and Kelley lay-up gave the visitors a 22-15 lead with 10:04 to play until halftime. Campbell would battle back and held a 32-31 advantage with 1:11 to go when Lindsay Smithburger drained a jumper from the wing. Kelley answered back for the Lady Owls, knocking down a 20-footer to put KSU back up by one. After a defensive stand gave the ball right back, Henderson was in the right place at the right time, gathering a loose-ball rebound and putting it back up and in just before the buzzer to give the Black and Gold a three-point halftime lead.
