SAVANNAH, Ga. - Four Owl golfers finished inside of the top 25, including J.P. Putnam and Michael Tulacz's tie for third, as the Kennesaw State Men's Golf team maintained its position Tuesday to finish third at the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate.

After a season-low performance in Monday's second round propelled the Owls up the leaderboard, they held onto their third place spot with a final round 291 on Tuesday to finish at six-over par (870). Kennesaw State was near the top in nearly every statistical category, finishing first in par three scoring (3.15), second in birdies (42) and pars (167), and third in par five scoring (4.92).

Putnam led the way for a second-consecutive day, turning in a three-under par 69 to finish with a 54-hole total of 215, just three strokes off of the winning score. It was Putnam's second sub-70 round in a row and his fourth this season after recording only one all of last year. The Owls junior finished second in par three scoring (3.00) and third in birdies (12).

Tulacz ran his streak of par-or-better rounds to nine on Tuesday, shooting a second-straight even par 72 to finished tied for third with Putnam at 215. Tulacz was second in birdies (13) and par four scoring (4.00), and fourth in par five scoring (4.67) while recording his third top 10 finish in a row.

Freshman Jeff Karlsson closed with a solid one-over par 73 to finish tied for 11th at 220, earning his first collegiate top 20. Karlsson was a study in consistency in Savannah, finishing second in pars with 39.

Matthew Nagy turned in the Owls final qualifying score of the day, shooting a five-over 77 to tie for 22nd. Nagy was his typical steady self, finishing fourth in pars with 36.

Alex Jones couldn't hold things together to record his best finish in two seasons, falling backwards after a final round 84 to finish tied for 54th.

Host Georgia Southern won the team title for the second year in a row, finishing at 865 to edge second place Furman by one stroke. The Eagles' Logan Blondell won a playoff over Furman's Anthony Aloi to claim the individual title. Blondell led from wire-to-wire, finishing with a three-round 212.

It was a great warm-up for the Owls with the Brickyard Collegiate Championship just three days away. They will face one of the deepest fields in school history in Macon this year when they square off with the likes of Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Clemson at the Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club on October 11-13.
