FORT MEYERS, Fla. - Laura Lindsey turned in her best finish of the season and Jordan Lazenby moved into the top 20 to lead the Kennesaw State women's golf team to a ninth place finish at Florida International's 31st Annual Pat Bradley Invitational.

Wearing pink shoelaces in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month and with a pledge to donate five dollars for every birdie they made, the Owls (303-306-325=934), found the red numbers 23 times while recording the lowest 54-hole total in school history.

"This was a good way to finish the fall season," said an optimistic Kennesaw State Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "Jordan played well today and Laura showed the leadership that we need out of her as our only senior."

Lindsey led the team, finishing tied for 15th with a 229 54-hole total. KSU's lone senior was steady at the 6,118-yard, par-72 Pelican Preserve Golf and Country Club, finishing fourth in pars (36) and tied for third in par three scoring (3.17) after closing with an 81. The 229 total ties her collegiate low which she recorded at last season's Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.

Lazenby carded the Owls lowest score on Tuesday, shooting a final round 77 to move into a tie for 19th at 231. It was Lazenby's first top 20 finish and lowest 54-hole total since joining the Owls at the beginning of this season. The junior from Casselberry, Fla. finished tied for second in par five scoring (4.87) and third in birdies (8).

Ashley Aguilera and Malin Becker came in tied for 39th at 237 after closing 82-85 respectively. Aguilera recorded six birdies while Becker tied Lindsey for third in par three scoring. Lindsay Hagerman rounded out the Owls scoring, improving in the final round with an 85 to finish alone in 69th.

Florida International held onto to take the team title with an 884. The Golden Panthers' Belen Buendia overtook her teammate Paula Hurtado with a final round 68 to win the individual title with a 212.

"I am proud of the way the team responded in the last two events after a couple of tough outings against some pretty deep fields in the middle of our schedule," added Brinsmead. "We have some things we need to work on in the off-season, but I am confident that we will practice hard and stay focused in order to have a great spring."

The ninth place finish was the Owls second-lowest of the season and their third top 10. They will return home for off-season workouts and finals before heading back to the road in February for the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.
