KENNESAW, Ga. - Even though they already clinched a spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, the Owls have one more regular season match to play when they host Mercer on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at the KSU Soccer Field. Because it is the final home match of the regular season, the Owls will honor five seniors before the match.

"Our Mercer game should be a cracker," said head coach Rob King. "Our players are disappointed that we dropped points on the road in Nashville, so are not playing for the regular season title. But this game is an in state rivalry; it's about bragging rights and tournament seedings."

Mercer clinched the regular season title last weekend when they defeated Campbell 2-0. The Bears currently own a 7-1-1 A-Sun record so even if they fall to the Owls, they will still have a good enough record for first place.

The Bears are led by Olivia Tucker who has eight goals on the year and has tallied three assists. Head Coach Grant Serafy had two players named to the pre-season all-conference team, including Kacie Hudson who has four goals and Meghan Castaldo who has two goals and six assists. Jean Worts has played the most time in the goalkeeper position and has 38 saves on the year.

MU's only loss so far this season was to Jacksonville while they tied Florida Gulf Coast 1-1. Currently, the Bears are on a five-game winning streak.

The Black and Gold own a 10-4-4 overall record while they are 5-2-2 in A-Sun play. Even though they are currently third in the conference, they still lead in most categories including shots, points, goals, goals per game, assists, assists per game and corners.

Several Owls are in the top five in several different A-Sun categories. Rachel Baer has had her share in the No. 1 spot and is currently first in shots per game. She holds the second spot in shots, points per game, goals and goals per game.

Caroline Austin is not only ranked first in the conference in assists and assists per game, she is ranked 24th in the nation in assists per game. The red-shirt sophomore has tallied 10 assists so far this season.
