KSU to Host USA-Costa Rica International Friendly

KENNESAW, Ga. - The United States U-17 Men's National team will play the Costa Rica U-17 National Team in an international friendly soccer match on August 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the KSU Soccer Complex.

The U.S. team, which is currently training in Clemson, South Carolina, will be playing its final match on home soil as they prepare for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in South Korea.

The United States team will be playing in Group E in the World Cup along with Belgium, Tunisia and Tajikistan. The team will open up against Tajikistan on August 20 before facing Tunisia on August 23 and concluding pool play on August 26 against Belgium.

The August 7 showdown will wrap-up a 12-day camp which will have included a pair of games against USL opponent in the First Division, the Atlanta Silverbacks, and a Second Division team, the Charlotte Eagles

The match versus Costa Rica, which is sponsored by U.S. Soccer, is the third international friendly to be played at Kennesaw State in the past 14 months. The University has played host to a pair of matches featuring the Liverpool Youth team and the Georgia ODP squad.

Tickets for the match between the United States and Costa Rica are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 17 years old and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the KSU Ticket Office. Call 678-797-2191 for ticketing.
