The Owls (30-23, 11-14 Atlantic Sun) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when shortstop Jacob Robbins scored after Jay Morrow got caught in a run-down after Owls' skipper Mike Sansing employed the double steal. Carlton Floyd then scored on a Brandon Scott ground out to first base to make the score 2-0 through two-and-half.
