JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Despite cold and extremely windy conditions, the Kennesaw State women's track and field team performed quite well this past weekend at the Gem of the Hills Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State University.

Leading the way for the Owls was once again distance runner, Erin Sutton. The sophomore once again won her specialty, the 5,000-meter run, with a season-best time of 18:08.36. She shaved nearly 30 second off last week's time, which was run on the same track, to record the fourth-fastest time this season in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Britany Reilly (18:57.23) and Lorena Jaime (20:09.82) also ran well to finish fourth and eighth in the event.

Soibhan Wolcott continued the great performances from the distance corps as she finished third in the 1,500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:55.35. Not far behind her was Catherine Combs, who took home eighth with a time of 5:06.83.

Jackie Keefer finished sixth in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:30.28, while Taylor Harris finished eighth (27.03) and ninth (13.08), respectively, in the 200-meter and 100-meter dashes.

The Owls will take a week off before returning to the track on April 21 in the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, Alabama.
